One of the University of Ontario Institute of Technology’s (UOIT) earliest graduates is the 2016 recipient of a young entrepreneur award from the Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce.

Dan Miguel (Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing), class of 2007) has been awarded the Chamber’s ENGEN Award, presented to ‘young entrepreneurs, students or volunteers between the ages of 18 and 40, who are doing exceptional things within the community’. Dan Miguel received the ENGEN Award at the Chamber’s 21st Annual Business Excellence Awards Gala in September.

Dan Miguel and fellow UOIT alumnus Chris Lazarte are the co-founders of National ProStaff (NPS), a social media platform where anglers and recreational fishing business connect to expose their products to each other and promote their individual brands.

NPS has made a big splash in the industry by helping organizations connected angling improve their marketing efforts and maximize return on investment.
