Late July construction work adjacent to south side of Science Building

Emergency notification

Due to required repair work to an underground high voltage line at the north Oshawa location, crews will need to excavate a temporary trench along the Shipping and Receiving service road leading from Founders Drive. The service road runs between the south side of the Science Building and the north side of the Gordon Willey Building.

The work will begin on Monday, July 17 and is expected to last about two weeks. During construction, the service road and receiving dock driveway between the two buildings will partially close. A single laneway will remain open during normal business hours for deliveries and other service access, but non-essential access to the area should be minimized. Pedestrians accessing the Science Building and the H-wing and I-wing of the Gordon Willey Building should use alternative entrances.

At the end of the construction period (projected to be the weekend of Saturday, July 29, but subject to change), crews will require a localized power outage to switch over to the newly installed feed. This outage could last up to eight hours, primarily affecting adjacent sections of the Gordon Willey Building.

Updates will be communicated as required. Your co-operation is appreciated.
