Update: Founders Lot 2 parking space limited for six weeks due to construction

Emergency notification

Note: Approximately 100 previously closed parking spaces on the west side of the Founders 2 Lot have reopened.

Approximately 50 parking spaces at the west end of Founders Lot 2 will remain unavailable until mid-January while crews prepare the area for the temporary future relocation of the Student Life and U6 buildings.

After the preliminary excavation work to provide services to the temporary homes of the Student Life and U6 buildings is complete, the affected parking spots will become available again.

Please also note that during the excavation work, vehicle access along the stretch of Founders Drive between Conlin Road and Avenue of Champions will be limited. Traffic flow disruptions along Founders Drive should be anticipated until mid-January. Disruption details are listed further below.

During the construction period, all campus users should allow themselves extra time for travel and parking. Pedestrians will also need to ensure they walk in designated areas safely away from construction zones. Please obey all signage and directions from construction workers during this period. Your patience is appreciated.

Please note: Founders Lot 2 permit holders and campus visitors intending to use Founders Lot 2 will only be able to park in the centre and east sections of the lot during this period. As an alternative during peak traffic times, motorists should park in either Founders Lot 3 (adjacent to the Software and Informatics Research Centre) or Founders Lot 4 (south of the Campus Ice Centre).
